I heard this song the other day at J. Crew and I'm going nutz trying to figure out what it is. It has a kind of early 80's, blue-eyed soul vibe. At first, I thought it was Dexys Midnight Runners but my research leads me to believe it's not. The part that sticks in my head is this little string riff. Totally British New Wave Motown kind of stuff.

I made an mp3 of what I can remember of the string part. It may be wildly inaccurate but please listen to it and see if you can help me.

Maybe a question to ask yourself is: what songs do I know that sound a little bit like C'mon Eileen? Any???

I'm gonna take a truly wild guess here and suggest the incredible "Sooner or Later", by English Beat.

You need to leave a contact address on its page.

I need to write a report about hamster vibes. Here is a tidbit:

What tv shows have hamsters appeared in?

America's Funniest Home Videos: Hamsters appear on this
show all the time. Videos have included a yawning hamster, a
hamster going under his wheel, and a hamster stuffing Alka-
Seltzer Tablets into its cheeks. (The more I think about that,
the less it's funny.)

So Donatello and Michelangelo and Rafael and Leonardo are sick of Splinter knowing everything and telling them exactly what to do and they're like, "WTF, Splinter how do you know all this stuff? How do you know everything thats happening and like, all the time?"

"It's like you must have some sort of network of information in constant communiqué with this dumpy old sewer!"

"A totally radical network of information with Splinter at the epicenter!"

"And it must be doing quite well, huh bra?"

-"INDEED," answers Splinter,

theres something called midomi - you can get it as an app on the iphone

all you have to do is hum a song into it (or play as much as you know) and it will search it's database and come back with some results.

might be worth a try if you havent found the song yet?

havent read the later posts yet - maybe you've found it by now.

great blog by the way.
